At Ard Cuan we ensure residents have enjoyable activities to encourage friendship, exercise, mental acuity, and just as important – fun. Management have planned a series of activities and pastimes to ensure each resident can participate in the life of the home.

The diverse programme includes: baking classes, flower arranging, gardening, card and board games, visits by musicians playing old time favourites, and local historians to encourage reminiscences of bygone years. We don’t forget traditional activites such as bingo, draughts and knitting – all garments produced are sent to help third world charities.

A recent innovation is our own herb garden, maintained by the residents themselves, giving our most mobile residents the chance to flex their green fingers and supply the cooks with tasty treats to liven up meals. Plans ahead include a painting class, shopping trips, and away days to revisit the sights of residents’ happiest memories.
